Al Maktoum International AirportThe defendant AA, 27, of Pakistan, was not present to enter his plea this morning before the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance.

Prosecutors said that on August 19, 2009, AA was entering the country through the Dubai International Airport and, upon searching his luggage, customs workers found the fake passport and credit cards.

The passport carried the name MA, and had invalid information, as well as fake entry stamps from the Dubai airport and a visit visa stamp, prosecutors said.

Twenty-one fake Visa and MasterCard credit cards carrying names of different banks in the UAE were found with the defendant, prosecutors said.

AA also tricked a passenger into carrying one of his bags, prosecutors said.

FA, a Dubai customs inspector, told prosecutors that he became suspicious of the defendant and decided to search him. He said that 12 cards were with AA, and nine with the other passenger, according to prosecutors.

AA confessed to investigators that he intended to use the cards inside the country.

The next hearing was scheduled for April 26 to summon the defendant.nline/online.js?js=v.1.0.6′ type=’text/javascript’>
